Wittur introduces patented split housing gearless for the modernization of high rise lifts

Wittur Electric Drives GmbH announced today the launch of the WGG 29, a new traction machine for the modernization of high rise lifts. This new synchronous high-efficiency gearless drive offers outstanding performances, with a max. load of 5000 kg and a max speed of 5 m/s (with 2:1 rope arrangement).
A breakthrough innovation introduced by the WGG 29 is its split housing design, which delivers a perfect solution for the easy replacement of high rise lift machines when space and accessibility to machine room are limited. When disassembled, WGG 29 can be moved through a standard door of 800 mm width.

Besides the extremely easy handling, WGG 29 shares most of the key technical features of the Wittur Electric Drives range of high-performance drives, including:
-    High efficiency permanent magnets
-    Every rope direction possible (USP)
-     Lowest operating noise level
-    Shaft loads at the traction sheave up to 300,000 N
-    EC type examination certificate according to EN 81-20/50,  can be used as a solution to avoid Unintended Car Movement (UCM)
-    Different options for voltage, speed, torque, measuring system and traction sheave parameters
-    UL-CSA certification and compliance to ASME A17.1 as an option
-    European patent EP 2 871 147 A1 and world patent pending
Orders for WGG 29 can be received from August 1st, 2016.
Thomas Kagemann, Head of Sales and Marketing at Wittur Electric Drives, is extremely excited about this new development: “Wittur WGG 29 will enable quicker and easier modernization of old design lift drives. Modernization projects are sometimes difficult and expensive due to limited access to the existing machine room and to the dimensions and weight of the drives. From now on it will be easier to benefit from reduced energy consumption and better comfort of latest generation gearless drives also when dealing with existing machine rooms with extremely limited space”.
