I heard that Wittur China is celebrating this year its 20th anniversary, how does the company do?
It’s good that you make this question, this something that we are proud of, in fact Wittur was established as joint venture in 1995, after that Wittur becomes a foreign fully own company. Wittur entered Chinese market in 1995, which is much earlier than all of the non-Chinese competitors. Showing a long-term view of the company founder. Mr. Horst Wittur, the founder, saw already at that time the potential of this big market and decided to make the move. From that moment on, the company was consistently improving and drawing it presence in china. By now, Wittur china is the biggest operation in the group. And we are proud to say this plant is not only big, but it’s also the model of efficiency and performance of the group. After these 20 years, the company now is able to manufacture an output of more than 1 million doors which is what we have done last year. And our employees now are more than 1200 people. Chinese sales network is consist of more than 20 sales offices all around China. In the factory we also have a training and test center, where we can run all the tests on our products, and train our people, and develop new products specific for Chinese market. Considering of our staff, they are fully linked with corporate function and this link is taking place with a daily contacts video conference and both direction visiting, and continuous interaction with the centers of competence base on our matrix organization.
I always see the ”safety” in your publication, what makes SAFETY so important?
You have touched the key point with your question. Safety is really the key focus for Wittur, and safety becomes one of the most hot topics in China, to underlined by the new norms that have been released, such as GB norms amendment, the new rules defining the responsibility for the OEM about the installation and the maintenance of the lifts, etc. All this is a clear sign of the rising awareness about safety in China. That is nothing else that confirming the right choice we did years ago, investing that much on safety of our product, now we are proud of that all of our product in factory are already compliant with new norms that will become mandatory by November this year. Safety for us is always not a negotiable feature of our product because we are fully aware of our products is an essential element to protect people from been hurt or from casualties. We have also complete range of products that are certificated for fire protection and resistance. Safety is not only important for the most popular products of Wittur China, car doors and landing doors, but also for the other product, such as gearless drive and safety gears, over-speed governor which both manufactured in China, or imported from our sister companies. This is also in line with the slogan “Safety in Motion” that we adopt in 2014 in Guangzhou.
What is the next target of the company?
The main target is now is to extend our customer base, we want to reach wider number of customers, mainly local elevator companies, as I said before we have increased dramatically the number of our sales office, and our salesmen on each field, accordingly, we increase their train course with Wittur academy. another target is about the product. We are launching at the same time, not only the new package of the car and landing door for residential application, , but also solutions for new malls and office, such as the new glass doors, and products designed for specific for high-rise application, like gearless drive, WSG 21 featuring a max. load up to 3000kg and speed up to 5m/s. Finally, I am glad to invite all the readers who plan to come to Augsburg in October for the Interlift 2015. This year Wittur will have a newly-built set-up named Wittur CUBE, where you will be warmly welcomed by our Chinese staff.
