One of the main new touristic spots of the UK capital city, the infrastructure was designed by London-based Wilkinson Eyre Architects, and inaugurated in June 2012 just before the Olympic Games. The Emirates Air Line cable car lifts passengers up to 90 metres above the river Thames for a 1.1 Km travel that allows to discover a unique view of the city as well as some of the capital's most iconic buildings and attractions, including the O2 Arena, the Thames Barrier, the Crystal and Canary Wharf.
The Emirates Air Line is fully accessible to wheelchair users and the mobility- impaired, with step free access in both terminals, thanks to 4 panoramic lifts equipped with Wittur Hydra framed glass automatic doors.
